“We had a very disappointing experience with HubSpot. During the sales process, we were given clear assurances about what the platform could do, but once we started implementation it became obvious that key features were either missing or required significant additional costs. We were told we could connect our team’s phones and track calls, but not that this would require porting all of our business numbers. We also clearly explained our need to log in-person sales visits, only to find out this isn’t supported without customization and potentially upgrading to a higher-tier plan. On top of that, we were later told it would cost thousands more (around $3,000) just to make the system function as originally described. To make matters worse, despite raising these issues almost immediately, they have refused to cancel our agreement—even though it has been less than 10 days—essentially telling us “too bad.” The entire experience has felt misleading and frustrating, and we’ve been left with a system that does not meet our needs without significant extra cost. I strongly recommend any business get everything in writing and fully understand what is actually included before signing.”

“I’d say the overall experience has been bad. They set us up with a waaay more expensive package than was needed initially. Then we got a renewal notice that prices were going up and requested a sales call. Hubspot delayed for weeks to meet us. Then our sales rep Nacho Barios delayed getting us a revised quote until about one month from renewal leaving us with very little time to even search for other options. Then they auto renewed us at the higher rate when we had expressed that if we renewed that we would be renewing at the basic level (still overpriced). Asking them to work with us as we are a small family based tree nursery. Hey hubspot billing, please get back to me.”

“As a small business owner this app seemed promising. I attempted to setup and send email after paying $15 for first month starter. App says I need to pay for a more expensive subscription after the $15 subscription I paid for says I can send emails. Impossible to get any coherent English-speaking support. Chat is useless.”

“One of the worst decisions we ever made was to contract with this company. They have a great sales team but their after sales service is unbelievably bad and worst of all there is no way that you can call anyone. The best that you get is an opportunity to send an email or leave a message. And email responses take anything from two days to two weeks. They are only about sales which is really such a pity. Avoid this company.”

“HubSpot is loved by some, but I found the software complex, the onboarding way too "self-service" and the company soulless, money-grubbing, and overpriced. I hired a consulting firm who required we sign up for a $32k/year subscription to HubSpot. Annual contract was the only option. 6 months in that engagement failed, and HubSpot forced us to pay the remaining $16k despite us actively not using it, with threats of lawsuit if we didn't pay. Out of integrity we paid the bill, because we did sign the contract, but I've been bitter ever since. I now have 16,000 reasons to hate this company who has zero compassion for a bad recommendation to overinvest in a complex product we should never have bought. What ever happened to "do the right thing?" Just because I signed a contract doesn't make it "right" to force it to be paid.”
